Plan your experiences

What things are going to bring you joy?  Maybe it is watching that special grandchild opening a gift, or seeing the family all together for dinner. If you are on your own, what pleasures can you do so don’t feel alone.  It reminds me of when I was travelling a number of years ago in Belize on my own. I spent time calling and speaking with my parents; it was very heart warming. Now that I don’t have that, I will look to reach out to other family members. It is also a time when we can give to some who are less fortunate.  The key here is think ahead to different things that make your heart sing and to feel some joy and goodness. Jot down ideas on a list when you think of them because it can often be difficult to remember all the positives when you are feeling down.
