1. Pressure-it is your massage, so if it feels too hard for you it is! You need to let your therapist know, the same thing goes if it is too soft. The therapist should be able to adjust to what works for you, after all you’re are paying for the treatment. The correct pressure will help you to get more out of your session.
2. Special requests – advising your therapist before your session begins will help you to benefit even more from your treatment. • Is there is an area that needs extra work? • Do you like music during your session? Or does silence help you to relax even more? • Are you dealing with additional stress in your life at the moment?
3. It is your time to relax. If you have some favorite music that helps you to relax, bring that along with you. If you don’t like the therapist’s music you can also ask if it can be changed or the volume changed.
4. Use of essential oils is very helpful for a massage. By sharing your desired outcome for your massage, your therapist can choose the right essential oils to help you to achieve your goal. Goals can range from helping the mind, body, or muscles to relax to stimulating circulation in the body.
5. It is beneficial to use the same essential oils after your massage as it will help to continue the benefits of your treatment.
