3 Ways to Nurture and Nourish the Heart
1. Create supportive relationships with others and also ourselves. We can do this through expressing words of kindness and nice gestures. I recommend doing this daily to those you really care about. It reminds me of the saying “we all need hugs.” All too often there is a shortage of them. Another solution is if you aren’t receiving them from others ask yourself why? What can you do about it? Or hug yourself.
2. Have supportive nutrition if you have a heart condition. Most people think of calcium and often forget magnesium. If calcium doesn’t know where to go it can end up narrowing the opening of the aortic valve; thus impeding blood flow causing chest pains or a heart attack. Plus, calcium causes contractions and magnesium causes the release and it is important for the blood vessels to do both. If they don’t, this could result in high blood pressure or something more serious.
3. Go into nature or do things that bring you happiness. Make of list of things that bring you joy and pleasure. Try and do something from the list each day. Remember — it does not have to be time consuming, just consistent.
