Fear and anxiety be gone when going to the dentist

Meditating in a dentist chair I want to share a personal experience I recently had when I went to get some dental work done. Ugh, I don’t know about you but it is not my favorite place to hang out. I had my 1st cavity in years, so I can’t complain about that. I don’t like needles nor do I like the freezing…I’m sure many of you can relate. It was an opportunity to put my teachings into practice and that I did. The experience was pleasant and painless. That’s right, PAINLESS.

I relaxed in the chair and breathed. I also practiced awareness meditation. I was aware of my body and where it was holding tension. I would breathe into any area filled with tension and allow it to relax, and then repeated this process whenever I noticed any tension. As matter of fact even my jaw wasn’t sore or tender as a result of the procedure and being forced open so the dentist could work on my back tooth.

You may want to note these steps and give them a try next time you are going to the dentist or having some other not-so-pleasant procedure done.
