Here’s to a fresh start to a New Year. I wish you all the best for 2013.
We are in times of change as the world did not end in December as some had thought it was doomed to. We can see change all around us with systems breaking down and where tried and true ways longer produce the same results. We don’t have to look far to see how technology like the social medias are affecting how corporations and nations are interacting with people. Often before the calm there are great storms, but with widespread protests, bullying, and violence it can make us wonder if we will ever see calm again.
Sometimes we can feel torn between two worlds: the one rooted in materialism and the day-to-day living where we move through life as though in a fog and the other where we are completely connected and recognize that we are the co-creators of our life. I, too, must make a conscious and concerted effort to ground myself daily in the more connected world where I am aware of and aligned with the bigger picture.
When I look back at those moments in my life where I have had to deal with struggles, significant losses, or drastic changes, the belief that there is a bigger picture at play has always provided great solace. Although I may not have understood the “why” at the time, holding fast to this belief has definitely brought great peace in times of great chaos. Here is my personal mantra that can be repeated as many times as needed to bring about calm and peace. I encourage you to print it out and place it somewhere handy to serve as a reminder.
