Smell is a key sense that can shift how we feel. It has the power to uplift when we’re feeling down, and to bring peace and calm when we’re feeling anxious or unsettled.
Bring the fresh scent of the season into any room by diffusing some essential oils. Choose a woodsy smell like fir, cedar, or pine or spice it up with ginger or cinnamon. Essential oils can be added to a diffuser or a slow simmering pot of hot water on the stove. I do recommend though that you only use 3-4 drops as this will last for many hours.
I have to admit that while I do love the scent of all these oils, the smell of the Douglas Fir Essential Oil reminds me of when I was a child and we would go harvest our own Christmas tree. The scent of the tree filled the house and it has forever left me with many warm memories of my childhood and the holiday season.
