With the change of the season, it is time to prepare for winter.
On a recent road trip, I enjoyed all the wonderful colours of the leaves changing on the trees.
This is nature’s way of showcasing a change of season, and everything is slowly moving toward the quiet pause of winter and completing a cycle.
How do you feel about endings? Many people often become anxious, upset, or sad when something is coming to end.
Letting go can be difficult when we become attached and not wanting to change.
However, resisting change takes a lot of energy, and prevents the natural flow of nature and life.
Another thought I had during my drive was that our lives are very similar to the changing seasons: things come and go.
When things leave faster than we wish and out of our control, we are often left to deal with tremendous feelings of loss and emptiness.
Fortunately there are some very positive ways to deal with these feelings that will leave us stronger and more acceptable to change.
One way is by incorporating some essential oils, like ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and vetiver to provide you with warmth and cheer.
Vetiver is also a calming grounding oil that can help one to focus on patience during trying times.
Ginger will aid assimilation and digestion – keys when anxiety is wreaking havoc with the digestive system.
These oils all assist in stoking the fire, providing enthusiasm, and support during times of change.
There are several other ways that can assist in making and accepting change, they can be found in my book, “Catch Your Star.”
