Creating a Life and Business that Reflects You and Your Passions

Yes, with the heat wave we’ve had in BC, I took advantage to go for a ride up to Mount Washington. It was 33+ degrees and I could have easily said “it is too hot to ride,” finding an excuse of why not verses finding reasons why I can. What do you do to look for reason for or against your desire?

The drive was lovely and once I got going it was actually cooler on the bike. I got to enjoy the breeze on my face and warmth of the sun on my back. It was lovely.

I decided Mount Washington was the destination for timelines plus the road has a few curves on it and besides I had not been up there without the snow for a number of years.

On my way, I passed a number of cyclists in training for COPS Tour de Rock. Yes they were riding to the top. It was wonderful to see the different riders come in and the ones who had already arrived cheered them on. Team spirit was alive and well.

The view at the lodge is expansive; you can see for miles. In life and business you can often get so caught up in the day-to-day things, you can lose sight of the bigger picture like why you got into business or what you are really passionate about.

Life also has an ability to suck you in gradually and the months and years can pass you by causing you to forget about your dreams and passions if you let it.

While at the mountain, I took time to look around appreciating the beauty that I was surrounded by. Then reflected that into my business and life, reviewing the gratitude and opportunities I have. I also took time to envision some of my dreams. How I plan to accomplish them, what obstacles might arise, and what support and resources I need to implement into action. Wow, it felt so good to have a plan in the works!
