Try Something New

We are well into July and that means the year is half over. We talked about goals and New Year’s Resolutions at the beginning of the year. How are you doing with them? Do you even remember what they were? I encourage you to take a moment to review your goals. If you haven’t been taking steps to achieve your goals, then make this an opportunity to renew your commitment. If you have been taking steps to achieve your goals then it’s time to reward yourself and to celebrate your commitment. Congratulations for keeping yourself focused and for taking steps to move forward with your goals.

Change – having new experiences can often mean facing our fears and stepping out of our comfort zone.
Recently, I did something new by participating in the Nanaimo Toy Ride. It is a charity toy ride that brought out over 200 motorcyle riders from around here. It was amazing, well organized, and lots of fun for everyone, with an added bonus that the kids will benefit.

One of my passions is riding my motorcycle. I love it! My passion came from parasailing and enjoying the experience so much that I needed to find a way to recreate it. Have you ever tried parasailing or something similar? Why not? Is fear holding you back? What is your story about why not? For myself when I have feared something I have gone thru a process of asking myself the “why” question. Sometimes I’ve found the answers to be very revealing as they didn’t always make sense and contradicted my own truth.

I love it. Yes, there are risks; however, life always has risks in one way or another.
When riding, one must be aware and constantly pay attention. However, it stimulates the senses, you get smells for fresh flowers, trees, freshly cut grass, things seldom noticed when driving a car. It gives me a sense of freedom and awakens other feelings not usually experienced when driving a car.

I encourage you to step out and try 1 new experience this summer.
