The Cost of Selling Out to Juicing Up

The other day I found myself having an inner dialogue I am not proud of having but it happened. The good thing is I caught myself. There was a desire I had and I just about missed the opportunity by finding excuses for all the reasons why I couldn’t, I had a headache, a cold with sinus congestion and I might get motion sickness that would stay with me for the day.

Suddenly I realized what I was doing, selling out, and why it couldn’t work verses, “How could I do it all?” With the insight, I quickly realized I could have it all if I choose to make it happen. I turned the car around as I was headed for the Canyon and now I was driving to the Las Vegas Speedway. Yes, I was going racing, so to speak.

Apr 28 blog photo 1Yes, I do have bit of a wild side to me that likes speed, freedom and experiencing new things. To race a car at NASCAR Speedway had been a long time dream.

On Wednesday, I made the decision to go on a ride-along. I thought about driving myself but I decided that is for next time. This time I wanted the experience in my body memory of what it was like to go 165/mph around the race track.

Yes. I did it!! It was friggin amazing!!! The cornering and banking; what a breath taking experience.

To think I just about passed up on experiencing one of my dreams. How often do you stop yourself in experiencing one of your dreams without realizing it’s because of fear? Or because of what others might think or it doesn’t seem logical. Yet the desire makes your heart sing and fills you with inspiration.

Once getting in the car, I went “Wow, I’m doing it. How exciting?” My headache disappeared, no motion sickness and more than that I felt safe, secure, and supported in the car.

It was amazing. Next time I plan drive the car on my own!Apr 28 blog photo 2

After the ride I went to the beautiful, absolutely incredible Red Rock Canyon. It was another breath taking experience. Two amazing experiences in one day; what an exhilarating and self-nurturing experience. This is an example of having it all in one day.

What are some of the ways you sell out on yourself or your business? You can discover this through what goes on in your mental chatter. It’s the wrong time, I don’t have the time, one day I will, that’s too far to travel, etc. It also could show up as procrastination or saying to yourself, “It’s not the right time”.

The opposite of selling out on yourself is doing what thrills, awakens your juiciness to living and experiencing a fulfilled life. One of the ways of discovering this is asking yourself what excites you or lifts your vibe? Also, notice how it makes you feel. For me riding in the race car at NASCAR is the closest feeling to it other than riding my motorcycle. What can you do to have more juiciness in your life?
Experiencing juice will have many positive impacts on business like increased sales, new ideas, increased enthusiasm and many more possibilities.

Share below how selling out and experiencing the juice show up in your business and life.

Such an sneaky way in which the ego likes to confuse and give plenty of ¨good¨ excuses to take us away from our true desires. Thank you so much for shining a light on how us, women can end up selling out on ourselves and role modeling letting go of the excuses to do what you love. XO

Ahhh, yes! We all do that! Congrats to you on not letting it hold you back – sounds like your ride-along was JUST what you needed! 🙂 I have found myself doing that with creating art – telling myself I don’t know what to create, how it should look, where it would go…the list goes on and on!

    • tammy says:

thanks Brianna, it was so good and I consciously anchored the sensations of the experience in my body. I love hearing about your art and look forward to seeing it sometime.

I understand this completely and it reminds me of one of my mantras:

There is no path to a commitment,
    the commitment is the path!

Those of you who know what it feels like to be endlessly searching, you know who you are, and I hope you stop banning yourself from making the commitment 🙂

Love this! We met about a year ago and so I totally understand what it means for you to take that “ride ‘for’ your life!” My thrills are in deep relaxation – which fuels my renewal and creativity… allowing much desired integration time. Soon as the water’s warm – it’s float time for this chickadee!

    • tammy says:

Yes, I do love some speed and riding in race cars. Yes, the closest I get to it regularly is my motorcycle. However I am not crazy with it. Oh speak of deep relaxation, I love that too!!!! It is so nurturing and inspiring.

  5. It’s amazing what we’re capable of when we align with our heart’s desires about what we truly want and make it happen regardless. Good for you!

Thanks Naomi, it does feel good to get in touch and align with our heart’s desire. So alive.

I do enjoy the way you have presented this particular situation plus it really does give me some fodder for thought. Noethneless, coming from what precisely I have seen, I simply just wish when the opinions pack on that people today keep on point and not embark upon a soap box associated with some other news of the day. Yet, thank you for this exceptional piece and whilst I can not really agree with this in totality, I value the point of view.

      • While all the actors in this film are good, Colbert is waaay more charismatic than the rest of them put together. It’s an interesting movie, and a short one. I hope you have the chance to see it.

  6. Live it up!!! Heck ya! I got a rush just from reading this LOL I’m definitely giving myself more permission to do whatever I want, and just be. Ok – maybe I’m NOT racing cars, but I’m opening other channels for juice in my life. Feeling inspired by this post. thanks Tammy 🙂

Ahhh, yes, thank you for this reminder to really LIVE life and go after my dreams no matter what! I’ve let fear hold me back in the past and it’s just silly! 😉 I’m ready to experience a very juicy life! 🙂

    • tammy says:

Yay for you Jesse! Welcome to being human. We sometimes forget that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, we can get so caught up in being human.

    • tammy says:

Oh, welcome to being human Jesse. We have all allowed ourselves to be held back. I would love to know what you are going to do to juice up your life?

  8. Tammy,

I really enjoyed this one when I read it about 10 years ago. Your comments are making me wonder what I might think of it now, if I were to reread it. I do remember that it was slow in some parts but I loved the whole revenge stynloire.
