With spring in the air, I have been hearing clients say it’s time to detox and do spring cleaning. It’s time to make a change and de-stress. Let go of congestion in life and the things that are no longer working this like the cupboard of old clothes, piles of paper, or that china cabinet full of things that you haven’t looked at for years. It shows up in your health like stress and feeling overwhelmed.
Are you stressed, feeling overwhelmed or experiencing anxiety?
To you it might show up as:
* poor sleep | * tightness in the chest |
* sore lower back | * pulled muscles |
* heaviness in the mind or body | * zoomy mind |
* overweight | * feeling stuck |
These are just a few of many…
You are not alone! In the 2013 Stress in America ™ study, 44% of people reported that they are not doing enough to manage their stress. I have worked with hundreds of people over the last 15+ years and see the signs of stress in their body and their business.
What impact is the cost of stress having on your happiness, health and success in business? It often shows up in your business like a struggle for sales, costly decisions and procrastination.
Stress isn’t always bad, short spurts can increase productivity and efficiency. However, it is important to experience happiness, calm and peace rather than feeling the struggle, in a rush or always too busy with the inability to relax.
I’ve been diving in to spring cleaning as the weather starts to warm! I always notice huge shifts when I clear the clutter. It’s beautiful!
Thanks Brianna for sharing your experiences of spring cleaning.
Talking about stress is so important Tammy. Often times we let ourselves get so stressed out and overwhelmed that we suffer unnecessary pain. Thank you for shining a light on stress. Much love to you! XO
It’s a gorgeous spring day here in Northern California… I think I’ll take your suggestion and go out and clean up the deck in the sunshine! My neck strain just became noticeable! xo!
Sounds lovely Alix and hopefully your neck will relax in the process.
Thanks for the reminder Tammy. I love to meditate to de-stress and will definitely put it on my to do list for today. x
You are welcome Naomi. I would love to know how your practise goes for you.
Great article Tammy….I tend to have a lot of inner anxiety as the day comes to an end. Would love some techniques on how to wind down in the evening 🙂
Thanks Angela for your question. There are so many, however a couple of my favs listening to some slow relaxing music or taking a few minutes to do some deep relaxing breathing and journalling to let go of the day.
Oh man, this is a great reminder for me – thank you, Tammy! I have been stressed and not even recognizing it to do something about it. I have a tendency to just ignore it, thinking it will resolve itself – HA! Not likely. 😉
So thank you for this timely reminder! I’m going to focus on de-stressing and taking super awesome care of myself. 🙂
Great for you Jesse! It is easy to get caught up in life when it is busy.
Letting it go. I’m flowing more. Not always easy, especially with monkey mind around, but getting better! Thanks Tammy 🙂
Yay for flowing more Erika. For many women letting go takes some practise, me included. Sometimes it seems easy and other times it’s a little more challenging, yet the rewards are worth it.
Thanks for the wonderful massage yesterday, Tammy. I am feeling much more centred and calm.
Tammy,
My focus this year has been focus and implementation. as an idea girl this has been challenging and SO POWERFUL!
