Last month the question was “where are you in achieving your goals”? Have you given any thought to the question? Do you take daily action to achieving your goals or are you just getting through the days?
From listening and talking to other leaders and successful people in their fields they say that, “they are focused on and keep their goals or targets in front of them.” You may track goals at work or in your business, but what if you don’t carry that practice into your personal life. Herein lies an incongruence. If this is the case, ask yourself “what is one thing I could do daily that would support my bigger plan?”
For myself I love having goals and dreams. Recently a goal that I had and had for a while but due to timing in life it didn’t happen right away was to attend an E-Women Conference in Dallas, Texas. As many of you know I enjoy learning, experiencing different things as well as travelling, plus fulfilling on desires and goals.
In July, I attended E-Women Conference in Dallas where I had the opportunity to meet amazing people like Lisa Nicols from the Secret; John Gray known for Men are Mars and Women from Venus; Brandon Bruchard, the Charge and Manager & Music Promoter of many singers like Lionel Ritchie; Mr. Ken Kragen, the brain child behind Band Aid, “We Are The World”, and others.
Who was my favorite person I met you ask? That is difficult to answer as all of these folks left a lasting impression in one way or another. Lisa Nicols’ motto and new book “No Matter What”, highlighting how we should not let anything stop us. Lisa provided us with many other mantras.
The author John Gray was so personable. I came out of an event at midnight ready to go to my room and John was sitting on a sofa with many women listening to him while he taught and answered questions. He talked about how men and women are different, how trauma can affect people and their sexuality, how sex shouldn’t die after 40 on and on the discussion went, including how to get the spark back.
Part of Brandon Bruchard’s message came after he had a near death experience and it was the experience that got him motivated. For me, that meant that it is okay to speak about my own near death experience. Brandon is also very passionate about life and has written about it in his books. He has become very successful in a fairly short time span and is a sought after speaker.
Ken Kragen feels that no dream is too big, in fact it is good to have big dreams. Big dreams give us juice and inspire us. Do dreams inspire you? Ken is known for using marching bands and being unique.
I guess you could say that they all were my favourite! This would be because I learned something from each and every one of them. I’m so happy that I was able to fulfill one of my dreams and meet one of my goals. I’m looking forward to the day when I will get to go to another E-Women conference.
