1. Avoid eating close to your massage. You want the body to relax rather than trying to digest food, nor do you want the discomfort of lying on your belly with a full tummy.
2. Advise your therapist immediately if you have to use the bathroom. It’s hard to relax when you’re uncomfortable.
3. Use open and honest communication with your therapist. Let them know about your health issues. If they don’t know how can they help you?
I recall a few situations where if the client had told me their issue verses me having to find it, I could have given them more value and achieved even greater results.
4. Clear your thoughts by relaxing the busy brain. Allow yourself to let go of the day and other concerns so that you can be present with your massage. This will allow for greater enjoyment and more results. Life will be waiting for you when you leave.
5. Don’t rush right back into life. Take a few minutes after your massage. Taking the time to reflect about your session will allow the session to go deeper and have longer lasting results.
